Heartrending Loyalty: Grieving Puppy Stays by Mother’s Side, Unwilling to Part Even in Her Absence

The debate surrounding whether animals can experience emotions has sparked intense disputes on the internet. They feel, they love, they experience hunger, and just like us, they also grieve when they lose a loved one.

A heartwarming example of the deep bond animals can form is evident in the extraordinary relationship between a puppy and his mother. In a heart-wrenching incident, an Indian man discovered this profound connection when the puppy refused to leave his deceased mother’s side.

Initially, many people hesitated to intervene, unsure of how the dogs would react and fearful of approaching them. They pondered the situation, considering the best approach. However, when Somi arrived at the scene, he took the initiative to gently assist the dog.

Somi Gopalan had come across a photograph on Facebook showing the puppy sleeping on his mother’s lifeless body a few days earlier, but he had no information about the puppy’s whereabouts.

According to The Voice of Stray Dogs (VoSD), the dog and his mother had been in that location for a week. It took Somi some time to locate the puppy, and even VoSD had been unsuccessful in finding them during that period.

Somi compassionately buried the puppy’s mother and faced the arduous task of convincing the puppy to accompany him. The puppy resisted, as he was unwilling to leave his mother’s side.

Sadly, the mother had already passed away and had been decomposing for several days. It is truly unfortunate that images of the puppy cuddling his mother’s lifeless body continue to circulate on social media. Furthermore, some individuals have shared the pictures for personal gain, soliciting donations. It is heartbreaking to witness such exploitation.

Let us remain vigilant and report anyone attempting to profit from the use of these photographs. Thankfully, this puppy has been rescued, and his mother has been laid to rest. In due time, he will recover from this ordeal and receive an abundance of love for the rest of his life.
