The Conjuring 4: Last Rites (2024) | Official Trailer | Warner Bros
With the latest chapter in the franchise hinting at its future, director Michael Chaves has provided an update on “The Conjuring 4” following the post-credits scene of “The Nun II.”
Chaves, who previously directed the loosely connected films “The Curse of La Llorona” and “The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It,” has returned to the James Wan-produced franchise with the sequel to the 2018 hit spinoff.
“The Nun II” sees the return of Taissa Farmiga as Sister Irene and Bonnie Aarons as the demon Valak, who sets out on a violent spree across Europe, targeting priests and nuns in her search for a powerful artifact.
To celebrate the release of “The Nun II,” SlashFilm caught up with Michael Chaves to discuss the film in detail.
When asked about the post-credits scene and how it sets up the upcoming “The Conjuring: The Last Rites,” Chaves revealed that the writing process for the fourth mainline movie is still ongoing. He noted that the storyline “could go a couple of different ways” but expressed his enthusiasm for the project, hinting that “a great finale” is planned.
