Fond Farewell to PJ, Our Beloved Bottlenose Dolphin

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of PJ, our cherished eldest bottlenose dolphin. A beacon of wisdom and resilience, PJ, estimated to be 51 years old, gracefully bid farewell to this world, leaving behind a legacy of joy, companionship, and unwavering spirit. In celebrating her remarkable life, we reflect on the profound impact she had on our marine family at CMA (Clearwater Marine Aquarium).

PJ’s journey with us was marked by resilience and an enduring spirit that captivated the hearts of all who knew her. Throughout her 51 years, she lived a life filled with experiences, forging connections and leaving an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to share in her aquatic world. We are profoundly grateful for the privilege of providing her with comfort and care during her sunset years.

From the moment PJ arrived at CMA following her rescue, it was evident that her easygoing personality would make her a perfect match for our beloved dolphins, Winter and Hope. Together, they formed a bond that transcended species boundaries, creating a harmonious marine family that brought joy to visitors and staff alike.

In her passing, PJ now joins Winter and serves as her eternal bodyguard. Their unbreakable bond, forged through shared experiences and mutual understanding, continues beyond the confines of our marine sanctuary. It was PJ’s wish, and in her transition to the next adventure, she ensures that she will forever watch over Winter with the same dedication and love that defined their time together.
