A Stray Dog with an Injured Paw Enters a Veterinary Clinic and Asked the Doctors for Help
Millions of stray animals wander the streets each day and it’s no surprise that they encounter an injury or two on their daily strolls. These poor animals have no permanent place to stay, so it makes them vulnerable to any accidents and injuries. One smart dog with an injury walked into a vet clinic because he knew the doctors can help.
Earlier this month, an unexpected visitor entered a veterinary clinic in Brazil where Doctor Dayse Ferreira works.
He was an injured and sick dog who entered the clinic seeking help.
Dayse and the other doctors did not hesitate to offer him help. He was a smart dog who knows that he came to the right place.
Doctor Ferreira had just finished with a client when she noticed the dog enter. He was limping from a hurt paw. She and the other doctors did not hesitate to offer him help and were amazed that he knew the right place to seek help on his own. It seems that the dog trusted them the minute he entered the clinic door.
“When he came in, he put the injured paw forward, as if to say hello and to show that he was hurting,” Ferreira told The Dodo. “We were surprised because he knew where to ask for help.”
Ferreira immediately attended to him when he entered.
Here is the video of that moment the dog entered the clinic:
After a quick and thorough examination of the dog, Ferreira discovered that he was not seriously injured. Though she found a small tumor and he was covered in fleas.
It was a good thing that he came to the clinic just in time to seek help. His tumor and flea infestation was treatable and there was hope for him yet.
The dog was given a cleansing bath, and Ferreira gave him some medication. By seeking help and coming to the right place, the lonely dog was given something more.
He had a chance to find a home.
Citizens were quick to learn about the surprise patient the clinic has welcomed, and adoption offers started pouring in. The clinic is making decisions on who would adopt the dog when the time was right. The dog in return seems to know that his days as a lonely and unloved pup are officially going to be over.
“He doesn’t even look sick. He just is so excited to be around people who care about him,” Ferreira said.
The days are looking brighter now for the homeless stray dog – his initiative to find help in the right place and the people who did not hesitate to offer him aid have proven this.
“The most admirable thing is that he came on his own. His intelligence is beautiful,” Ferreira said. “I’m sure he will find a home that will welcome him and receive him with all the love he deserves.”
